Getting Started: Building Your First Case in Xspe^®

Xspe^® is an incremental program that lets you quickly and easily predict the thermal-hydraulic performance of Type I (i.e., spiral-spiral flow) single-phase spiral plate exchangers. This webinar gives a brief overview of the basic geometry of spiral exchangers, highlights the benefits of this exchanger type, such as the self-cleaning mechanism and true countercurrent flow, and identifies the various applications of Xspe regarding single-phase spiral flows with Newtonian viscosity parameters. After the initial discussion, we demonstrate how to rate and evaluate a spiral plate exchanger using Xspe including how to navigate the interface, input geometry, and interpret results.
