Abstract:
The losses in piping bends can be a significant fraction of the overall pressure drop in a flow process. Due to the lack of a simple theoretical formulation of even the single-phase pressure drop through bends, it is important to identify correlations that address a wide range of conditions. This report documents single- and two-phase pressure drop correlations for pipe bends, including miters, and provides recommendations.
