Abstract:

This report discusses the unique considerations necessary for proper analysis of vibration problems such as fluidelastic instability, turbulent buffeting, and vortex shedding in two-phase flows. We present a unified procedure for calculating total damping that applies to both single-phase and two-phase flows. Finally, an example comparing corresponding results from single-phase methods highlights the importance of using the two-phase methods.
