Equations relating friction and entrainment during two-phase flow are developed with particular reference to the transition from annular to stratified flow. The analysis follows closely on recent publications. A key assumption in previous analyses is shown to be redundant, leading to new equations for a number of coefficients in the equations for friction pressure gradient.
