Abstract:
Hydrate formation in natural gas processing plants may cause severe problems in the plant operation. A solution of glycol/water (usually 70 wt percent glycol) is usually injected in the tube side of the heat exchangers in such plants to prevent formation of hydrates and plugging of the tubes. The existing methods available for predicting the performance of these exchangers are reviewed.
