Abstract:

An analytical study is presented to demonstrate the effect of concentration of noncondensing gas and the difference in molecular weights between the condensing and noncondensing components on the heat transfer coefficient calculated using the Resistance Proration Method. A correction factor is developed to account for the above effect, and its performance tested successfully against experimental data.
