Abstract:

New heat transfer methods are developed for the shellside flow boiling in horizontal baffled shell-and-tube heat exchangers which are commonly used in horizontal shellside thermosiphon reboilers. These methods are based on a large HTRI data bank for industrial-scale horizontal thermosiphon reboilers vaporizing pure hydrocarbons and multicomponent hydrocarbon mixtures.
