Q9-1 Contributions Enhance Tube Vibration Data Bank

HTRI collects performance data from operating heat exchangers to aid in the development and validation of flow-induced vibration analysis methods. Cases in the data bank represent both vibratory ones, as well as those that have been deemed free of vibration problems. We have recently added ten new cases for which our current analysis predicts vibration erroneously or predicts vibration parameters near current thresholds. The current limitations of the data bank are discussed to emphasize the need for additional verifiable field cases.
